  • Tina, your true color is Blue!

    You're blue —
the most soothing shade of the spectrum. The color of a clear summer
sky or a deep, reflective ocean, blue has traditionally symbolized
trust, solitude, and loyalty. Most likely a thoughtful person who
values spending some time on your own, you'd rather connect deeply with
a few people than have a bunch of slight acquaintances.

  • HEY!

don't know why but this has become a favorite music video for me. it's SO CUTE.

or maybe I just wish I was having as much fun as these girls.

  • "Cat Food"

    http://gallery.hd.org/_exhibits/food/cat-food-3-DHD.jpg

A traditional elderly woman was enjoying a good
game of bridge with her girlfriends early one evening. "Oh,
no! I have to rush home and fix dinner for my husband!
He's going to be really upset if it's not ready when he gets home from work!" she
    exclaimed suddenly.

When she got home, she realized that she didn't have
enough time to go to the supermarket, and all she had
in the way of food was a wilted head of lettuce, an egg, and
a can of cat food in the cupboard. In a panic, she opened the can of cat
food, stirred in the egg, and 'plated' it on a few lettuce leaves,
just as her husband pulled up.

She greeted her husband and then watched in horror
as he sat down to his dinner. To her surprise, he
seemed to really enjoy his dinner. "Darling, this is one of the
best dinners you have made for me in forty years we've
been married. You can make this for me any old time."

Needless to say, every bridge night from then on, the
woman made her husband the same dish. When she told
her bridge cronies about it, they were all horrified.

"You're going to kill him!" they exclaimed.

Two months later, her husband died.

The next time the women got together to play bridge, one
of the ladies suddenly blurted out, "You killed him! We told
you that feeding him that cat food every week would do
him in! How can you just sit there so calmly and play
bridge knowing you murdered your husband?"

The wife stoically replied, "I didn't kill him. He fell out of a tree,
while trying to catch a bird."

  • overwhelmed

sometimes you could cut the heaviness in my heart with a spoon. times like these, i feel lonelier than ever. a complete stranger to the world. where i don't fit in and i don't do anything right for anyone and i just wish i could get away from all the shadows in my head.

eh...finals week with criticism coming from all directions in your life = distressed emo-ness.

i wish i didn't disappoint people so much and i wish people remember that i have feelings too.
lately all i hear are people nit picking at me or telling me how i messed up on stuff that isn't even wrong so they can have someone to poke at and be angry at. so they can feel better and take it out on someone because they're feeling shitty. not very cool.
i am working my butt off, but i don't go around shoving the fact that i'm beyond busy and unbearably overwoked in people's faces.
i don't go around asking for anyone to treat me with anything but fairness and equal kindness. even tho it's probably more fun to be dramaqueen.
but it would be nice if for once, the people i care about took note of the good in their and not always the bad or the things they can point their fingers at.
i'm not perfect. i'm imperfect. and so are you.

    and that should be ok.

but it shouldn't ok that we pass judgement and criticism more readily than we are to really understand and appreciate.
i'm overwhelmed with work right now at school and work. is it really unreasonable for people to not also dump their baggage and negativity on me?
i'm carrying enough as it is over here. we all are.

i swear there should be a law against making others feel responsible for our messes.

  • Space Cadetz BUZZ

This has been an exciting day for http://www.spacecadetz.com/ founder Scott Kobayashi.  It was the day of the useful MySpace cool hunting blog's first one-on-one interview with Al Cabino, the man who has started the first sneaker petition to get Nike to produce Marty McFly's kicks from the Back To The Future Trilogy.

But even bigger, today was a big day for space cadetz as it got mentioned and written up in no less than three very important online blogspotting publications.  That's big news. In a world where bloggers are becoming leaders in the world's consumer market, this is BIG.
And with the kind of writing and cool hunting Scott does I'm sure he will be a leading voice in the blogging world someday.

    All hyping aside:
This is personally a very exciting and long day, since Scott's my hunny and I want to say congrats in person but we've both been swamped with work all day.

But check out what Scott's been up to everyone! You might like what you see, you might not, you might even get addicted to spacecadetz, who knows...either way, we'd really appreciate your taking the time to check out all of his long hours of work and your support.
The interview is a really good read too, so don't forget to check it out.  I know I'm gonna go get me a pair of McFlys someday. Definitely.

And Scotty, I am so proud of you. Congratulations hunny!  I am glad that your hard work, passion and talent is being recognized and appreciated.YAY!

    MySpace Guide

    Heather Green

So, how do you navigate MySpace? Well, one blogger is providing a guide. Spacecadetz, launched in February, highlights on content, music, and videos. Now, as Adage reports, he's doing his first Q&A. It's with Al Cabino, who has spearheaded an online petition to get Nike to bring the shoes featured in Back to the Future II.

    NO STRINGS ATTACHED
I bought cheap generic sneakers with the velcro instead of the shoe
strings. The were $9.99 on sale. You can spray paint them for the back
to the future look. The spray paint will run you a few bucks. Use the
    water based stuff. DIY camo!

Now you can buy prepaid gasoline for the future. http://www2.firstfuelbank.com/
I'm thinking this could really catch on. Just have your credit card
billed now and fill up later. You can pay later too. Gas is now around
$3.00 a gallon. If it goes to $4.00 a gallon you can save thousands of
dollars when you get back to the future. If it goes down, well you are
out of luck. I guess if it goes way up we are all out of luck. We are
going to have a lot of people hoping gas goes way up in price. You do
    the math!

MySpace Guide Gets Its 15 Minutes of Fame

By B.L. Ochman There is such a vast amount of content on My Space that there are blogs that highlight MySpace posts, profiles and videos. Spacecadetz is one. Now AdAge, adrants, and BusinessWeek's Blogspotting are writing about Spacecadetz first interview.

Smart move by spacecadetz if they want to attract advertising from
Nike. And it seems to me that MySpace needs to think about better ways
to make content findable on the site.

Nike McFly Sneaker Activist Interviewed On Spacecadetz Myspace Blog

    mcflys.jpg

In February of this year, a blog called Spacecadetz
launched. The purpose of the blog is to highlight some of the best
MySpace content from profiles to videos to new features to events.
Currently, the blog has an interview with Al Cabino, the man behind a petition that asks Nike to bring back McFlys, the sneakers featured in the Michael J. Fox movie Back to the Future II.
Cabino, who's coined the term "sneaker activism" doesn't want to wait
until 2015, the year rumor has it Nike will, perhaps, introduce McFlys
to the public. Cabino wants the kicks now and has launched a vigorous
    campaign to get Nike's attention.

He's been asking us to write about his petition for almost a year
and we just couldn't get that excited about it. After all, these were
sneakers that might have been cool circa 1985. Though they'd certainly
look different if re-introduced, today, they look like they belong in
the same back closet pile with the Member Only jacket. But, to each his
own. Fashion is a relative term. That's why we have Trucker Hats.
Anyway, he's running a successful campaign and has 17,000 signatures to
date and it's an intriguing approach to get a brand to make something
it could immediately sell to at least 17,000 people.

There is something seriously wrong with this picture!!!

  • WOAH. xanga updated their blogging software. very nifty.

Panic sets in as i'm still up and it's 4. I have the hardest finance exam ever tomorrow. I am so stressed. I think everyone in the class is. No matter how much you review the material it's not helpful because it makes no sense. Drat once a week arithmetic heavy courses. Now i'm still sitting here trying to make sense of the questions that no one seems to know how to solve.

    SIGH.

horrors. go figure I have a very important meeting right after the final as well. that i am going to also be monumentally unprepared for.
    I hate hell weeks.
    I hate exams.
    I hate math.
I hate that I have the worst memory and have the hardest time focusing.
I 'm just not really a school person. I'm a make things happen and be innovative and work hard gal.

I am so excited about getting outta school soon.
    WOOHOO!

edit: i hate that i am hungry at such an odd hour. UGH. i'm not supposed to eat this late right? BUT my stomach is GROWLING.
    sleep. i need sleep.

  • If you thought Almond Roca was good...try Cashew Roca.

Seriously. The caf had some small packets today and I grabbed one out of curiosity.
And I must say that my insatiable sweet tooth was pleasantly satisfied.

Same butternut toffee as Almond Roca but slightly softer.
    YUM!

Seriously, I've had about 6 today. I recommend it greatly.
(I've even suprised 5 people today with the great taste)
